With the At the table channel (Standard plan) customers order from their seats and the order reaches the kitchen already tagged with the table number. The Places section is where you define tables and pickup points.
Creating tables
From Places:
- create a single table ("Table 1", "Terrace 3"…) or a whole series at once (e.g. "Table 1–30");
- reorder them as you like;
- each place can serve At the table, pickup (e.g. "Counter", "Kiosk") or both.
The At-the-table channel requires at least one active table: it's one of the publishing checklist checks — without it, the channel won't switch on.
How customers order
The customer opens your app at the table, picks At the table and selects their table: the order arrives with the table already set — no more "which one was table four?".
Pickup points
If your venue is large (or you have a dedicated takeaway counter), create pickup points with clear names: the customer chooses where to collect and you see the point on the order.
Tips
- Use the same names/numbers you already use in the dining room, or your staff will go crazy;
- For outdoor areas, explicit names ("Outdoor 1") help on busy nights;
- If you rearrange the room, update your places: creating and deactivating them takes seconds.
