Available on paid plans, coupons and promotional notifications are your tools to fill
slow evenings.

## Coupons

From the **Promotions** section you create a coupon with:

- a **code** (e.g. `SUMMER10`) and discount type (percentage, fixed amount, free
  delivery);
- **validity** (dates) and conditions;
- **where it applies**: your whole business or a single venue, if you have more than
  one.

The customer enters the code in the cart and the discount applies immediately. In the
history you see **how many times** each coupon was used.

You can also **assign a coupon to a specific customer** (from their card in
Customers): only they can use it — perfect to make up for a bad experience.

## Promotional notifications

Also from Promotions, you send a **push notification** to customers who have your
app: a message, an optional linked coupon, and off it goes. With multiple venues, you
choose whether to reach everyone or one venue's customers.

## Good practices

- Short, pronounceable codes (people dictate them over the phone and type them on the
  fly);
- Always an **expiry date**: urgency moves people, forever doesn't;
- Don't overuse push: an occasional promotion sparks curiosity, three a week get your
  notifications muted.
